Sculpt360 Fitness Studio Coming to Allison Shopping Center

Taking over the former Modfit storefront, Sculpt360 will open its first New Jersey location in Allison Shopping Center this spring.

Sculpt360 currently has another studio located in Center City at 777 Broad Street that opened in June of 2016.  (It looks like they previously had another location in Northern Liberties that opened on April 2, 2015, but closed for renovations in 2016 - I don't think it every reopened).

The fitness center offers 'Sculpt' classes, which they describe as a 'high intensity low impact strength training method that will give you the best total body workout.'.   There are no machines or weights for you to work out on your own.  Classes are limited to 10 people, and you can register online to reserve your place. The workouts make use of a 'Megaformer', a machine that uses a system of springs and pulleys to work your upper and lower body with adjustable resistance.

All classes use the Megaformer

Here is a Philly Voice article that describes the workout.

The studio offers 50 minute classes throughout the morning, late afternoon and evening, ranging from beginner to more advanced levels.  At the Center City location, there are some introductory offers, but after that, prices are:
  • 4 classes for $88 a month
  • 8 classes for $168 a month
  • Unlimited classes for $200 a month
Description of classes and prices are all based on the Center City location.  Its possible there may be some variation at the Marlton location.

If a restaurant goes out of business and a new restaurant takes over at the same location, it makes sense - it can take advantage of the layout, the kitchen, etc.  However the location Sculpt360 is taking over is an empty shell right now, so it would appear to be more of a coincidence than anything that Modfit used to be in the same location.

As it is currently empty, it will probably be several months before it opens.  I wonder whether it will open before the Max Challenge Studio, opening in Marlton Crossings, and also nothing but an empty shell right now.
