After 2 days of near 100 degree heat, it seemed a perfect time to have the 11th Annual Mayor's Cup 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk. While the weather was not near as hot at race time, it was just as humid and sticky.
The 5K Route proceeded down Main Street and through several Marlton neighborhoods. While the
route was published on the map below, it must have changed at some point, as I enjoyed the festivities from a bench located approximately where the arrow indicates and everyone ran right past me.

15 minutes later.....
As people made the right turn onto Main Street from Locust, you could hear a lot of parents running with their kids saying 'Look! There's finish line!' Everyone kicked it into extra gear when making that turn, and spectators shouted encouragement from the sidelines.

The winners this year were Chris Spizak in the men's division, with a time of 15:33, and 12 year old Kerry O'Day in the women's division with a time of 20:59.

And while it wasn't officially recognized because they weren't wearing a bib, *I* would like to recognize the first canine finisher.
