Planning Board Meeting 7/19/2018 - Expansion for Joan of Arc and Lawsuit against Planning Board and Royal Farms construction

The Evesham Township Planning Board met on July 19th, 2018.  While I was not in attendance, I did want to pass along a few interesting things occurred.  So a quick blog post.

  • The Planning Board annual reorganization took place.  Alicia Marone was named Chair, Jay Parikh was named Vice Chair and Paul Cortland was named Alternate Vice Chair.
  • Approval was given for St Joan of Arc's to build a new Rectory, a residence for up to three priests, on their site on Evans Road.

Rectory will be located approximatley in the yellow circle

And finally, the Planning Board met in Executive Session to discuss a lawsuit. (Executive Session is out of view of the public).  The name of the lawsuit was read in public:  The Orchards Homeowners Associated vs the Evesham Township Planning Board and FT Equities.

The Orchards is the neighborhood directly behind where the Royal Farms was approved.  FT Equities is the developer approved to build the Royal Farms.  I do not know whether the lawsuit is to stop the Royal Farms from being built, or to affect changes to the current design.  During the hearing before the planning board in April, many residents of the Orchards were present to express their disapproval with the proposed Royal Farms, but the project was approved anyway.

If anyone can provide me with a copy of the lawsuit, I would be most appreciative.  You can email me at MarltonNeil@yahoo.com or contact me via Facebook.

Royal Farms approved where the building on the left currently is.  All the houses are part of the Orchards Homeowners Association.
