RIP Greentree Mews - January 1984 - July 30, 2019

7/30/2019: Note: I originally posted a version of this blog on Facebook in late May, when heavy equipment was first brought onto the site. It look nearly two months for them to begin demolition but it looks like it is complete, so I am reposting it to the blog for posterity.
I am calling it. Time of death: 12:00 PM, July 30, 2019.
What follows is a history of Greentree Mews. There are photos of the demolition at the end.
----------
Greentree Mews was built as part of a larger development project that encompassed the old Byron T Roberts Farm, which was sold to developers in 1974. The building boasted 'an attractive brick and cedar design'. Greentree Mews began advertising for tenants in late 1983 for occupancy in January 1984.

Its first big tenant was MidLantic Bank, which opened on August 18, 1984.

It was quite a busy month for building permits in Evesham in June of 1984. Check out what else was approved aside from MidLantic Bank - what is listed immediately above and below MidLantic will make long time residents sad.

MidLantic Bank was purchase by PNC Bank in November 1995 and the Marlton branch was closed. Community National Bank opened a branch at the same location in March of 1996, which remained open until August 1998, when Community National Bank was purchased by Hubco, parent company of Hudson United Bank. The bank briefly changed to a branch of Hudson United, and then that closed as well

.

On December 17, 2001, Firstrust Bank opened a branch which remained open until November 2018. The new branch was 'state of the art', with a 'cyber cafe' , which would allow customers to use personal computers to access the internet and for banking.

This branch closed when the owner of the building non-renewed their lease, so they could develop the property as a Royal Farms. Firstrust relocated to Cherry Hill.

There were quite a few other smaller tenants in the building over the years as well, mostly small medical and financial offices.

When the demolition is complete and the rubble is removed, presumably construction of the new Royal Farm will commence.  I wrote about the new Royal Farms back when it was approved last year.
