Sprouts Farmers Market coming to Marlton Crossing

This is a Photoshopped Image

(Note: 1/8/2019   The above image is photo-shopped.  In addition, when I posted this blog, I inadvertently thought that Sprouts was moving to the left side of Burlington Coat Factory.  It is actually on the right side of BCF.  The error was corrected in subsequent blog posts, but I have left the original blog intact.)

I first heard rumors of a small grocery moving into Marlton Crossing several months ago, but was unable to find anything concrete.  I didn't want to publish anything until I found out more.  A couple of days ago, I heard from two different people that a 'Sprouts' was coming to town.  (Please note the above image is photoshopped.  There is no marquee on the building right now.)

And I was able to find some proof of it at long last.  On page 58 of this 101 page document that the owners of the shopping center filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission is this:

They are in the process of 'rightsizing' the Burlington Coat Factory.  According to the current site plan, the BCF is 84,271 square feet, but will be shrinking to 51,000 square feet.  This will allow a 33,000 square feet Sprouts to take its place in an enlarged 3A.   3A is currently 4,900 square feet.

Site 3A was previously home to Sears Appliance Center.
And before that, it was Five Below.

Currently the site is empty:

I am unfamiliar with Sprouts, as their closest store is in Maryland.  The currently have 280 stores in 15 states, with most being in three states: California, Texas and Colorado.  They have plans to build an additional 30 stores in 2018.  The average store employs about 120 full and part time workers.

A typical store has a produce department, meat department (with an onsite butcher), seafood and groceries.  There is fresh and prepared deli food, and over 7000 vitamins and body care products.

The concept seems someone akin to Trader Joe's, but the store is a little bigger than the average Trader Joe's.  I have no idea when this store will be completed and it seems quite a ways off.  But it certainly seems like something to look forward to!
