Evesham Retail Update 5/22/2019 - Royal Farms updates, Vionic Opens June 8 and Gud2Go is a Go

Here are all the updates since my last blog from May 4.  Many of these updates have previously been posted on my Facebook page, but I like to gather them all together for a blog post.

Note: This is a photoshopped image on Gud2Go's Facebook page.  As of today, the Radio Shack sign is still on the building.

The convenience store that was previously located at the Valero Station on the corner of Route 70 and Cropwell Road will be relocating 1/4 mile down the street to the old Radio Shack building and will be called Gud2Go Food Store.  Construction has begun on the inside of the store.

Shelving that had remained since Radio Shack shut down has been removed

Deconstruction continues at the former Valero.   The gas pumps have been removed, and the underground tanks were dug up last week.  Much of the parking lot has been filled with gravel.  A Chase Bank will be built after the demolition.

Vionic Shoes at the Promenade opens on June 8th.  The grand opening includes swag giveaways and complimentary foot massages.

It seemed that the Mission BBQ went up really quickly, so I was surprised when they pushed back their opening to August 12th.  The building contains two retail establishment.  The smaller one, on the left has not yet been leased, and looks like this:

The larger storefront, for Mission BBQ, looks like this.  What is difficult to see in the picture is that unlike the smaller place next door, the Mission BBQ floor has not yet been laid.  It is still gravel.

Starbucks opened on May 16th.  It is still difficult to find from the street if you don't know where it is, but a new sign is forthcoming.  A second sign is being placed near the entrance from Old Marlton Pike.

It looks like the Royal Farms at Firstrust Bank is getting closer.  Construction equipment was moved on site last week to demolish the building.  Additional machinery was brought out today, though I don't have an updated photo.  They tore up some of the parking lot, but the building (Greentree Mews) still stands.

The clock is ticking for Greentree Mews

In other Royal Farms news, the website for the property management company was updated this month, as has the site plan for Sunbird Plaza, located next to Target where Scaturro's once stood.  The Royal Farms logo has been removed from the plans.  I'm not sure why, but there's only one reason I can think of.  This Royal Farms was approved by the planning board and the state approved a traffic light at Sunbird Drive.  It would seem odd to abandon plans at this time.  Here are the old and new plans.

UPDATE 5/23/2019: I have received confirmation from the property management company that Royal Farms will NOT be building at Sunbird Plaza.

Plans from November 2018

Plans from May 2019.  Royal Farms logo is gone.

A dumpster was moved on site at the former GBoys.  Not sure why, as there is nothing there to throw away.

Signs went up on the Dunkin Donuts at Renaissance Square (former KMart).  Still no where near opening day.

  • Sprouts opens June 5.  I'll have a post as the date gets closer with updated photos.  The construction appears to be completed and there are employees inside being trained and stocking shelves.
  • Nene's Market on Main Street opened on May 10
