Evesham Retail Update - 9/7/2019 - Bistro Di Marino and Olga's Coming Soon

Here is the monthly roundup of changes in the retail scene in Marlton over the past month.  Most of this I've published on my Facebook page over the past month, but a few things are new.

Bistro Di Marino, a Collingswood favorite of many, will be opening a 2nd location in View at Marlton, the LA Fitness Shopping Center.  The new restaurant will be moving in to the storefront that the same owner just recently closed his Marino's Kitchen, which was open less than a year.  The new format should be similar to that of the Collingswood restaurant, rather than the fast-casual Kitchen.  An article in the Courier Post said to look for an opening in October, though from the looks of the inside, that may be an aggressive date.

Marino's Kitchen will soon reopen as Bistro Di Marino

Also at View at Marlton, Restore Hyper Wellness and Cryotherapy will be opening a new location at the former Crisp Kitchen.  No word yet on an opening date, their website just says 'Coming Soon'.  Construction has not begun.

Police and Fire Federal Credit Union (PFFCU) will be opening a new branch in the Marlton Crossing Shopping Center.  They will be taking over the storefront that was most recently Sears Appliance, and before that Five Below.  Construction has not yet begun.  The closest branch is currently in Maple Shade on Lenola Road.

Expedia Cruise Ship Centers will be opening soon in Greentree Square.  Construction has begun in the storefront just to the left of Domenico's Italian Restaurant.

Construction has begun at Barclay Chase of a new State Farm office.  There are 3 storefronts available for lease on the first floor of Barclay Square.  The State Farm office will be the right most one.

Sculpt360 in Allison Shopping Center has closed.  They were open a little more than a year.  Their website notes that they will soon be opening a studio in Cherry Hill, but do not have a location.  They weren't even in Marlton long enough to get their own sign on the storefront.

Caliber Collision on Route 73 has purchased CollisionMax on Main Street.  We'll have to watch in the future to see if both locations remain open.  Seems unusual to have two body shops so close together.

In an annual tradition, Spirit Halloween will be opening soon at the old Borders Bookstore.  They had shown an opening date of September 5th, but that didn't happen.  You can check their website for the Marlton store for any announcements.  Last year, we also had a Halloween City in the Whole Foods Shopping Center.  I have not seen an announcement yet with a list of stores for the 2019 Halloween season.

UPDATE: 9/7/2019 9:30am: Spirit Halloween now open!

Construction is continuing inside of 73 Seafood Restaurant at the Plaza 73 Shops.  (This is on Route 73 North, across Route 73 from Kohl's, where Sushi Kingdom is.)  I haven't provided pictures previously because their windows were all papered over.  The paper has come down, but floor to ceiling curtains went up.  There is a set of double doors that you can see through to see what they doing - the floors are all new and some tables are in place, but because of the angles and double doors, obtaining a picture is not possible due to glare.  (Note: I don't know if 73 Seafood Restaurant is the proper name, but that is what is listed on the construction approvals.)

In that same shopping center, a US Marines Career Center has opened.

Casa Nostra Ristorante Autentico & Pizzeria has opened it the Village at the Greene Shopping Center on the corner of Evesboro-Medford Road and Elmwood, at the former location of the short-lived Korner Bistro (and Monti's before that).  BYOB.

Building permits for Children of America have been approved and construction will be commencing shortly after a long delay, located at Renaissance Square in the former Superfresh.

Mission BBQ opened on August 19th. The only thing significant about this picture is that I finally got to take a picture of Mission from the inside of the restaurant, rather than through the windows.  I highly recommend the chopped brisket.

Olga's Diner is getting closer to opening.  They haven't released an official opening date, but according to a recent article in the Courier Post, look for it some time around Thanksgiving.

Cropwell Cleaners on the corner of Cropwell and Old Marlton Pike closed August 31, 2019

Charming Charlie has closed all its stores nationwide, including the one at Marlton Square
