April 2018 Retail Construction Update - Greene Street, Retro Fitness, Tobacco Mart, Food Truck Day!

As always, I have previously posted some of this on Facebook.  I just like to periodically gather it in one spot.

Greene Street coming to Marlton Crossing

I have received updated info from Greene Street on their new store, located at the old Carter's in Marlton Crossing.
This is a photoshop taken directly from Greenestreet.com

While this mid-to-high end consignment shop has no official launch date set, their anticipated opening date is April 25th, 2018.  They currently have 8 locations, with the closest being in Philadelphia.  "This location will be Greene Street's third buyout location, offering 2 ways to get paid:
  • 30% E-cash (offer dependent upon the brand and condition);
  • 50% Store Credit (paid via Greene Street Gift Card)
All items priced over $200 will be consigned for 60 days for higher commission percentages (50%, 60% or up to 70% commission, depending on the item!).  This location will be accepting men’s and women’s clothing and accessories!"

Republic Bank

At the March 1st meeting of Planning Board, approval was given for a Republic Bank next to CVS at the corner of North Maple Ave and West Greentree Road.  This is a part of town that has 6 banks and 4 standalone ATMs within a short walk.

When the CVS and Arby's were built, there was always plans for a 3rd tenant on the site - there is a location on the sign out front for the 3rd tenant.  The Scarborough sign (shown below) in the distance, on the far side of the entrance, shows the location of the future Republic Bank, which will share the entrance with CVS and Arby's.

Tobacco Mart at former Subway and Cost Cutters Remodel

The Subway on corner of Greentree Road and Evesboro-Medford Road closed last fall.  Looks like they will soon be occupied by Tobacco Mart (or a tobacco mart.  I am unsure whether it is a proper name or not).

Right next door, the Cost Cutters just underwent a remodel and was closed for a week.  It would appear to be reopened.

Sprouts

No real update on Sprouts, coming to Marlton Crossing, but they have cones out in front of the store.

And this diagram was posted a few weeks ago as their new facade.

There is also construction going on at the rear of the store.

Luigi's Pizza Fresca
I think the pergola has been up since last summer, but there is also a sign on the front door that they will be adding an addition

Retro Fitness to Renaissance Square?

And now a little guess work.  Is Retro Fitness moving to Renaissance Square?  While I don't usually like to post unconfirmed reports, I found a few interesting pieces of information.  First, a Facebook page for Retro Fitness of Marlton.  The address listed is Renaissance Square.  The Facebook page has been around since at least February 9, 2017.

In addition, I found the following request for bids for a project at 'Tri Town (sic) Plaza', the old name for Renaissance Square.

Its possible both of these items are old, for a project that never occurred.  While there are quite a few spaces available at Renaissance, the only places it could logically go are lots 2,3 and 4 below, and none are 11,871 sq feet.

Atlanticare Urgent Care at Franco's

The fence has been removed from around the new building in front of Franco's.  New landscaping has been planted as well, so I figured this meant the building was close to being finished.  That is not the case however.  The building is divided into two separate offices.

Wawa and Tractor Supply Co. Store just over the border in Voorhees

This blog is very much an Evesham-centric blog, but I thought it was appropriate to include this project, currently in front of the Planning Board of Voorhees.  The plan is to build a Wawa and a Tractor Supply Co store on the corner of Route 73 and Kresson Road, behind the existing TD Bank.  The plans are below.

You will note a diagonal blue line entitled 'municipal boundary line'.  Everything to the north and east of that line is Evesham, everything to the south and west is Voorhees.  You'll note the entrance and a few of the parking lots sit in Evesham.  And obviously anyone who uses that intersection will be affected.

Here is the overhead shot of the same location.  I've drawn the town border as best as I can.

The Voorhees Planning Board has met twice to discuss the project, on March 14 and April 11, 2018 and still has not made a decision.  They will meet again on May 9th.

I don't know whether this would ever have to appear in front of the Evesham Planning Board, or whether Evesham will receive any of the ratables increase.

Food Truck Day at the Promenade

The Promenade shopping center is have their annual Food Truck Day on Sunday April 22nd, from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.

In other news:
  • Soft Surroundings had their grand opening in the Promenade
  • Frutta Bowls had their grand opening in the Promenade
  • TCBY in Crispin Square has new ownership
  • Royal Farms approved near Marlton 8
  • Bertucci's Italian Restaurants have filed for bankruptcy, and immediately closed 15 location.  The Marlton location appears to have survived the first round of closures.  You may want to call before travelling out for your next meal.
