Retail Updates from Evesham - Let's Yo Closes, New Hair Salon Coming & Lots of New Signs 10/31/2018

Let's Yo at the Marlton Crossing Shopping Center has closed.  It had only been there a few years, but the yogurt machines have been removed from the facility and their sign has come down. Their name has been added to the list of 90+ stores that have opened and then closed at Marlton Crossing.

Something is happening where Cugini was.  I posted pictures last blog showing all the windows have been papered up, so you can no longer see in.  This sign is now on the front door.   No indication of what the new tenant will be.

Grace Bistro at Plaza 70 got their overhang sign.  The big marquee sign still says Wu's Bistro.

Sprouts has released a list of stores it expects to open in the first quarter of 2019 and Marlton is NOT on the list.  They still have made no announcement or acknowledgment that they are even building in Marlton, despite the property owner showing it on their website.

A few people have asked me whether there are any updates on the new Olga's Diner being built next to Chick Fil-A. There aren't.  Over the past month our local newspapers reported on Olga's, which is why everyone is talking about it, but there really haven't been any updates since I first reported on it back in April.  But if you are still looking for information, here are some links:

Back in August I reported that Firstrust Bank had applied to the state to close their Marlton office and relocate to Cherry Hill.  It looks like their application was accepted at the State of NJ Department of Banking and Insurance, and according to their submission, they will close on 11/2/2018.  There are no signs on the doors at the branch that they will be closing, so perhaps that date has changed.

Firstrust will open a branch in Cherry Hill at 108 E Marlton Pike (Route 70), which briefly held a Citibank.  The branch in Marlton was forced to close when their lease was non-renewed, as the owner of the property had contracted to have a Royal Farms built there.  The Royal Farms has been delayed due to a lawsuit by the surrounding neighborhood.

Raymour & Flanigan has put their signs up at the old Shops at Borders.

And they have added their name to the sign at the entrance to the center.  And it appears that the center is no longer called 'The Shops at Borders'.  The shopping center is now known as 'Raymour & Flanigan Plaza'.

Back in January, I wrote "A Brief History of 'The Shops at Borders' aka Meadows Edge Marketplace."  I wrote 'Stay tuned' at the end of that blog.  It looks like the ending has been written.
