12/10/2018 - Marlton Retail Update - Wear House closes, Bella Caffe coming, Pizza Hut, Sprouts, etc...
Pizza Hut/Starbucks Plaza
I frequently report incoming retail stores before there is actual physical evidence, but I still feel a sense of relief when I get confirmation at the location. So I was excited to see this small sign on Old Marlton Pike.
I can also now confirm that the Pizza Hut will be right next to the Starbucks, in store 2 listed below.
The Pizza Hut will definitely not be a full service sit-down restaurant, as it is way too small for that.
The Wear House has quietly closed its doors. Its location in Marlton Crossing was open a little over a year. It has been added to the list of 100 + closed stores in Marlton Crossing.
In the same shopping center, Fleet Feet is currently having a 40% off retirement sale, as the owners prepare to close the store. It should be closed before the end of the year.
Also at Marlton Crossing, it looks like most of the construction work on the outside of Sprouts Farmer's Marktet is just about complete. The heavy machinery has been moved away, along with the jersey barriers. The inside of the store can now be worked on, but it still has a long way to go before it opens. Sprouts has provided a list of stores they expect to open in the 1st Quarter of 2019, and Marlton is not on the list, so expect 2nd Quarter 2019 at the earliest.
Bella Caffe will be opening at the Shoppes at Elmwood, in the location formerly occupied by Cugini Deli. They bill themselves as an espresso bar, also selling cannoli, paninis, pastries and gelato.
No word yet on when they will open. They are currently working on reconstructing the inside of the storefront.
I previously noted that I thought a new hair salon was coming to Plaza 70, replacing a previous hair salon that had closed. There were large boxes in the storefront containing hair washing sinks, looking like they had just been delivered. Those boxes have been removed - maybe they were put in a back storage room? Construction is now going on inside the storefront.
