Evesham Retail Update 6/7/2019 - New Nail Salon, Sprouts Opens, Verizon Opening 6/26

Sprouts had their grand opening this week, ending 16 months of anticipation.  Township officials were on hand for the grand opening, along with hundreds of customers who arrived early for freebies.  I'll have a separate post on Facebook later on my Sprouts experience.

Also in Marlton Crossing, Frozen Boba has announced that their Grand Opening will be on June 22nd, with a soft opening a few days before.  Frozen Boba will serve bubble tea and Thai Rolled Ice Cream.

A couple of changes in Crispin Square.  Cash For Gold has closed. (I'm not sure if that was the actual name for the store.)

And a new State Farm office will open next to Yoga Revive.

The new shopping center with Starbucks, Pizza Hut and Verizon has a name.  It is called Marlton Point Plaza.

And since the name is brand new, is has ZERO entries at Google.  That should change shortly after I publish this blog, so this post will be the number one search result for Marlton Point Plaza.

UPDATE: As of 6/12/2019, there is indeed ONE search result at Google for "Marlton Point Plaza" and it is this blog post.

The Verizon Store at Marlton Point Plaza has set their opening date for 6/26.  The store inside is still essentially empty, but putting up a few tables with phones chained to them doesn't seem like it should take that long.

And I think I need to hedge my bets a little here, as I am starting to have doubts that the one remaining storefront at that plaza will be Habit Burger.  Back in April, after seeing construction plans inside that storefront for Habit Burger, I said the following:

"It is a notebook from the Dover Construction Company for a recently completed project to constuct a Habit Burger in Gaithersburg, MD.  Dover Construction also recently completed Habit Burgers in Eatontown and Edgewater, NJ... I can't think of any reason for that notebook to be in that storefront unless Habit Burger is moving in.  So either we are getting a new Habit Burger, or someone is playing an awesome prank on me.  Well played!"

The leasing company is still listing that space as available, and the owner of the nail salon is storing stuff there right now.  I'm thinking I may have jumped the gun.

This sign will soon hang in front of Starbucks on Route 70

A new nail salon is coming to Raymour and Flanagan Plaza (the former Shoppes at Borders center).  The Nail Garden is 'coming soon'.

Vionic opens June 8.  There were employees trying to work, so I don't have a photo of the inside.

Wair Studio Salon should be opening soon at Plaza 70 (Produce Junction center).  They have removed the paper from their windows and have a menu on the front door.

A couple other items of note:
  • It looks like demolition has begun to the inside of Crisp Kitchen at the View at Marlton.  I don't know if that is a prelude to another tenant or not.
  • Some boxes were moved inside of the old Sears Appliance next to Sprouts in Marlton Crossing.  Again not sure if that is a sign of something on the way.
  • Several people have asked me if I knew anything about what is happening at Route 73 and Dutch Road.  Nothing has been to the planning board in many years.  A hotel was approved there about 6 years ago, but I believe the approval on that has lapsed.  Its possible someone was just cleaning up the site so it shows better, or perhaps something is coming.  I've heard nothing.
  • There doesn't appear to be any additional progress made to Children of America at Renaissance Square.
  • Still no opening date set for Dunkin at Renaissance either.  Still looks like a bunch of work is needed inside.
  • The former Firstrust Bank still stands.  There is a lot of heavy machinery onsite, so it may not have much longer before demolition.
  • Royal Farms will NOT be building at Scaturro's/Sunbird Plaza.  The property management company still plans to develop the site, but they are looking for tenants.
  • Speed Gas on Main Street has reopened
  • The big yellow dumpster that appeared at the old GBoys lot a couple of weeks ago has been removed
