The annual Town Council Reorganization took place last
night. The agenda for the meeting can be
found here: https://d3n9y02raazwpg.cloudfront.net/evesham/f0d9e156-1609-11ea-8baa-0050569183fa-5abfa11e-59bb-4524-8f5c-f1314a157cca-1578000689.pdf
Below is the list of appointments made. It is not an exhaustive list, but items that
either were not unanimous, or were noteworthy for other reasons. Most of the staff appointments were the same
as last year. You can see my summary of
last year’s appointments here:
Heather Cooper was reappointed Deputy Mayor by a 4-0-1
vote. (Ms Cooper did not vote).

Resolution 3-2020: Appointment of Thomas Hastie Jr as Bond
Counsel. This was a reappointment. While he was appointed by a 5-0 vote last
year, Mr DiEnna voted against him this year.
No explanation was given.
Resolution 4-2020: Appointment of Township Labor Counsel:
This resolution was tabled. It was not
voted on.
Resolution 5-2020: Appointment of Kelly A Grant as COAH
Attorney. This was a change from last
year. 5-0 vote.
Resolution 6-2020: Appointment of the firm Bowman &
Company as Municipal Auditor. This is a
change from last year, when Warren Broudy of Mercadian PC was appointed by a
3-2 vote, and marks a return of Bowman & Co to the role. 5-0 vote.
Resolution 7-2020: Appointment of Sherry Tracey of Phoenix Advisers as Financial Auditor. Vote was 4-1 with Mr DiEnna voting against, as he did last year.
Resolution 7-2020: Appointment of Sherry Tracey of Phoenix Advisers as Financial Auditor. Vote was 4-1 with Mr DiEnna voting against, as he did last year.
Resolution 14-2020: Appointment of Edward Farmer of Millennium
Strategies as Grant Writer. This is a
new role for the township. The township
received over $1 million in grants last year, and its thought that having a
designated grant writer will increase the amount of grants received. The goal is to have this position pay for
itself, that the extra money the town receives in grants will offset the costs
of having a grant writer. A contract now
needs to be worked out with the grant writer, and it is an open question as to
whether it will be an hourly contract, a percentage of grants received or some
other payment option. 5-0 vote.
For the commissions and committees with volunteer
appointments, it was noted that there were numerous positions still available
on many of the comittees such as the Library Committee, the Shade Tree Committee,
the Senior Citizen Committee, etc.
Citizens were urged to fill out an application if they were interested,
which can be picked up at the Municipal building or online at http://evesham-nj.org/index.php/forms-clerks/citizen-leadership-application
The entire meeting was livestreamed and recorded and can be
viewed in its entirety here: http://evesham-nj.org/index.php/mayor-council/council-meeting-videos.
