Evesham Retail Update 5/4/2019 - Frozen Bobo and Verizon Updates, Lucky 7 Closes

When I revealed that Verizon was opening a store in the new Pizza Hut/Starbucks building, I speculated that the Verizon authorized retailer just over the border in Cherry Hill would probably close. That seems to be confirmed. Here is the Verizon store in Cherry Hill, along with two of its neighbors.

And here is the updated site plan March 2019 for the Cross County Shopping Plaza where it is located. The Verizon store now shows as available.

Back in April, I reported that Frozen Boba was coming to Marlton Crossing, in the store front previously occupied by Let's Yo. The owner of the Frozen Boba is no stranger to Marlton, he also owns O'Sushi Japanese Restaurant in the same shopping center, just a few stores down. He confirms it will be a Thai Ice Cream and Bubble Tea restaurant, but cannot yet speculate as to an opening date.

The storefront has been recently papered up (to hide from prying eyes and, well, me taking pictures). The sign states 'Coming this Summer'.

Lucky 7 Deli has announced they will be closing. They took the spot of the former Wawa when it closed, but have found it difficult to run the business. I had noted back in September that their storefront was listed for lease, so it did not come as much of a surprised when the announced this. Many of the shelves were already empty today and the owner was on hand packing up.

Last blog, I speculated that Habit Burger would be coming to Marlton, based on seeing the following notebook inside a storefront next to Pizza Hut.

I reached out to Habit Burger and they have denied they will be opening a store in Marlton. It should be noted, however, that in response to multiple emails from me, Sprouts Farmers Market also denied building in Marlton, right up until they announced they were building in Marlton. I suppose time will tell if I need to write a retraction in the blog.

The Starbucks next to Pizza Hut was originally scheduled to open on May 2. They are probably still at least a week away. I was told by one of the construction worker that there was a delay in getting some permits. The sign at the other Starbucks does not have an updated date, it still shows May 2.
